Creamy Watermelon Homemade Frozen Yogurt

Made with sweet, juicy watermelon and creamy vanilla yogurt, this Watermelon Homemade Frozen Yogurt is the perfect healthy(ish!) dessert.

  • 4 ½ cups watermelon, cubed
  • 2 cups vanilla yogurt
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • Juice from ½ lemon
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1.  Place the cubed watermelon on a parchment paper lined sheet tray. Leave spaces between the cubes so that they are easy to remove later.
  2. Place the tray in the freezer for at least 6 hours, or overnight. 
  3. Once the watermelon is frozen solid, remove the tray from the freezer.
  4. Place half of the watermelon cubes in the food processor. Blend for ten seconds.
  5. Add the remaining watermelon cubes to the food processor. Blend for ten seconds.
  6. Add the yogurt, heavy cream, lemon juice, sugar, and vanilla. 
  7. Blend the mixture for one minute, or until it is a smooth consistency.
  8. Place the mixture into a freezer-safe bowl.  
  9. Freeze for one hour, or until the frozen yogurt is indeed frozen. (see note 1) 


  1. If you prefer a softer frozen yogurt, you can freeze the mixture until it reaches a desired texture.
